Risk management

I am tempted right here to start spewing statistics. That's all well and good. And you can read all about that right here. But what I want to really focus on is what to do with this knowledge.

Bad beats

Before we proceed to further discussions on strategy and whatnot, let us get one thing out of the way first, there is NO PERFECT WAY TO PLAY POKER. There is only the smart way, there is no perfect way. Even the smartest poker players get bad beats.

Check-raise

Check-raising is the most basic poker strategy a noob needs to learn. The idea is pretty simple, really. I just don't understand why there are those who think they know poker and yet simply does not understand what check-raising is all about.

Zynga poker chips are not real

First thing you have to remember when playing Zynga poker is that the chips aren't real (lol). And this affects the game play much. Real money players' strategy still works -- mostly. But the main difference is that there are more players willing to invest on the draw (that is to bet on a card yet to be dealt because they are waiting to complete a flush for example). But that said, Zynga poker is still poker.

Zynga poker for noobs

So, you know that a straight beats three-of-a-kind (trips). Well, good for you. You know the rules of the game. But can you play poker? I mean, really play poker?

How I won at the shootouts

I played Zynga poker shootouts for a month and won it three times. I actually won it twice within 2 days because I had won my first tournament 12 hours before the IPAD raffle qualifiers. The first win however took a week of trying.
