Bad beats



Before we proceed to further discussions on strategy and whatnot, let us get one thing out of the way first, there is NO PERFECT WAY TO PLAY POKER. There is only the smart way, there is no perfect way. Even the smartest poker players get bad beats.



Here is my worst beat at the Zynga tables so far; I was getting bored in the 100K sit n go tables. I was winning as much as I was losing, and was hovering basically stuck at around 6 million chips at the time, when I decided to make my first buy in at the 1 million sit n go table. That got my adrenaline pumping. Zynga chips aren't real, but buying in at 1 million, considering the amount of time I had put in to win that amount, does mean something.


So there I was in a table with 4 other players. 1,000 chips representing 1 million Zynga chips. First hand was a forgettable two mid-cards that I quickly folded. Second hand was pocket aces. Great, it is always nice to get a jump in the sit n gos. Getting the early lead is critical. I planned to milk my pocket aces for all it's worth. And so I posted the blinds, 20 chips, as did the rest of the table. Then came the flop, it was A-K-8. And so I had tripped the aces on the very second hand of the game. An opponent raised for 200 which I quickly called. Everyone else folded. Come the turn, it was a J. He raised all-in. Of course I can see the threat of the straight. But I was already committed. And I have tripped aces. I had to call. Long story short, at the river, the opponent made his straight. With just an A-Q as his hand, a 10 on the river broke my heart.


Losing 1 million Zynga chips in two hands really rattled me and would ruin my game for the next couple of days. So much so that my chip count went below 3 million and I had to stop for awhile. After a week, I started playing smart poker again and winning. I am now back to almost 6 million chips. And will try the 1 million buy in soon. Wish me luck.

    I have these similar "bad beats" 40times in a row... Isn't that really weird?

    I think this is kinda fixed by zynga to give the bad players(of which millions are on this site)a good chance to win even with dominated hands.

    such a rigged donk page,you play aces,re-raise all-in,get a donk call by ace 3 offsuit,bam trip 3s or you got ace king and lose against a weak ace,this is normal stuff there!:D

    I HAD A FULLHOUSE KING OFF THE FLOP K/6 FLOP KK6 OPPONENT HAD A/6 OFF SUIT I RAISED ALL IN HE CALLED GOT AN ACE ON THE TURN AND ANOTHER ACE ON THE RIVER....LOST TO A FULL BOAT ACES... LOST 4M ON ONE HAND... EFFIN STUPID GAME...

    A K OF SPADES SUITED LOST TO A K OFF SUIT HEARTS AND DIAMOND. FLOP IS A OF CLUB THE REST ARE ALL HEARTS. OPPONENT HAD KING HIGH FLUSH!!

    I hate this game as well. I play solid poker and when I bet I normally bet with good hands and don't like to bluff that much. But on Zynga poker you can have an amazing hand and stupid players raising preflop with 5 - 8, and me calling with KK or AA lose to a straight or a flush. Way too many four of a kind, flushes and straights in that game. Also an ex programmer of that game commented on reddit how the game is indeed fixed so that there is a bigger chance of big hands to fall. IN other words, players who suck have a chance at wining. Lame as hell.

    if u think those are bad had 2 bill on table out of my 5 bill and playing 50 100 mill blinds some donk raised 1 bill i called flop was k55 he pushed all in with pocket 9s the turn comes its a 9 and the river comes its another 9 got beat by 4 of a kind such a rigged bullshit hand

    At the turn, I had an A-high flush, down to 2 players at the river. I push all in, she calls. Another club drops, it drops in the middle of her straight flush, beating my A-high, down I went. Bahhhhh

    Zynga seems to reward bad play. I have played on around 20 different poker sites and also used their free play facility. The level of luck going to bad players on Zynga is incredible. It is clearly rigged to encourage donkeys to come back.
